Biography:
IG-88 is a notorious bounty hunter from the Star Wars universe, a towering assassin droid recognized for his chrome exoskeleton and deadly skills. He first appeared in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) as one of the bounty hunters Darth Vader hires to track down the Millennium Falcon.
Originally a prototype assassin droid designated PG-8142, IG-88 became self-aware and killed his creators before embarking on a career as a bounty hunter. He transferred his consciousness into multiple identical bodies, creating a network of droids dedicated to hunting and destruction.
IG-88 quickly established himself as one of the galaxy's most feared and efficient bounty hunters, earning a reputation for ruthlessness and effectiveness. He often worked alongside other bounty hunters, including Boba Fett, though their relationship was often competitive.
